This introductory training is designed for those who have little or no experience with international virtual collaboration, Participants will be introduced to different models of Virtual Exchange (class-to-class and ready-made) and how these can offer their students an international and intercultural experience, and help them develop soft skills such as digital literacies, collaboration skills and critical thinking. They will also develop an understanding of the pedagogical and technological choices involved, as well as the different ways in which virtual international collaboration can be integrated into the curriculum. Finally, they will reflect on opportunities and potential challenges by analyzing real cases from existing virtual international collaboration projects. To conclude, the training will also offer participants a taste of what a virtual international collaboration project looks like from the point of view of the student, as they will be asked to engage with the materials and tasks provided for each week, as well as asynchronous forum discussions and weekly synchronous sessions with the trainers. Trainees can expect to spend 3-4 hours per week on the course, including synchronous and asynchronous activities.
